Holy Pascha Week
The Holy Week of Pascha is central in the church life. It is a celebration of God the Heavenly Father’s love. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). It is also a living remembrance of our Lord Jesus Christ, “who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God” (Hebrews 9:14)
The Pascha is the crossing over to passover, and is taken from the rite of the Passover lamb whose blood caused the angel of death to pass over the houses and not harm them (Exodus 12:1- 51).
Therefore, Pascha week is not a week of useless pain or only pain, but pain of crossing over, passover pain, pain that you will receive the power, light, and glow from the blood of the Lamb that is sacrificed on the Cross.
