Brief About The History Of The Church And The Lord’s Work In Service

  • The church was first established in 1977 with only 10 families.
  • On September 22, 1981, the church was officially registered with the Alberta government under the name of  St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church in Calgary.
  • December 24, 1984 Father Daniel Rizk, priest of the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in Edmonton, began serving St. Mina Church in Calgary, once a week, in a rented church.
  • In June 1990, our father, Daniel Rizk, was assigned from Edmonton to serve in the Church of St Mina, Calgary, on a permanent basis.
  • December 4, 1992, the first church in Calgary was purchased under the name of the Church of the Great Martyr Mina the Wonderworker.
  • During the period from 1995 to 1997, major renovations were made in the church building, including the work of a baptismal room, as well as the addition of a special room for children to follow the Divine Liturgy through.
  • 2001 Abouna Daniel Rizk was permanently assigned to serve at St. Mina Church in Halifax, Canada.
  • From 2001 until June 2006, the church became without a permanent priest. Only mass services became available and took place on Saturdays.

 

 

  • 2006 Father Agathon Shayeb was delegated from Egypt to be a permanent priest for the church.
  • 2009 The city of Calgary decided to build a metro line in the church area, and accordingly, the city paid $ 6.75 million in exchange for ceding the land and building of the church to the city of Calgary for the metro project.
  • October, 2009 Beginning of designs for the church building.
  • October 22, 2010 His Grace Bishop Mina commissioned by His Holiness Pope Shenouda to lay the foundation stone and start the construction work of the church.
  • November 6, 2011 His Grace Bishop Mina inaugurated the church and held the first mass prayer in it.
  • The church is located 20 minutes from downtown Calgary and was built on an area of ​​5 acres at a total cost of $5.5 million.
  • January 5, 2012 His Grace Bishop Mina inaugurated the baptism.
  • 2014 The 4-acre plot of land adjacent to the church building was purchased at a value of $1.8 million.
  • September 17, 2014 Visit of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, inauguration of church altars and icons.
  • On November 24, 2019, H.G. Bishop Mina performed the “laying on the hands” ordained Fr. Shenouda Soliman to the order of priesthood on the Coptic Orthodox Church of the St. Mina in Calgary, AB.

نبذة عن تاريخ الكنيسة وعمل الرب فى الخدمة
 
.تأسست الكنيسة أولا سنة 1977 ومن 10 عائلات فقط +
.في 22 سبتمبر 1981م تم تسجيل الكنيسة رسميا لدى حكومة ألبرتا باسم كنيسة ما رمينا للأقباط الأرثوذكس بكالجارى +
. في 24  ديسمبر 1984 بدء خدمة أبونا دانيال رزق كاهن كنيسة السيدة العذراء بادمنتون لكنيسة مارمينا بكاجارى مرة كل اسبوعي وذلك فى كنيسة مستأجرة +
 .في يونيه 1990 تم انتداب أبونا دانيال رزق من إدمونتون للخدمة بكنيسة ما رمينا بكالجارى بصفة دائمة +
 .في 4 ديسمبر 1992 تم شراء أول كنيسة بكالجارى باسم كنيسة الشهيد العظيم مارمينا العجايبي +
.فى خلال الفترة من 1995 حتى 1997 تم عمل تجديدات كبيرة بمبنى الكنيسة ومنها عمل غرفة للمعمودية وايضا أضافة غرفة خاصة للأطفال لمتابعة القداس الألهى من خلاله +
 .2001 تم انتداب أبونا دانيال رزق بصفة دائمة للخدمة بكنيسة مارمينا بهاليفاكس بكندا +
 .من 2001م وحتى يونيه 2006اصبحت الكنيسة بلا كاهن دائم واصبحت خدمة القداسات فقط هى المتاحة وتتم أيام السبوت فقط +
.2006 تم انتداب قدس أبونا أغاثون شايب من مصر ليكون كاهنا دائما للكنيسة +
.2009 قررت مدينة كالجارى أن تبنى خط للمترو بمنطقة الكنيسة وعليه قامت المدينة بدفع 6.75 مليون دولار مقابل التنازل عن أرض ومبنى الكنيسة لمدينة كالجارى من أجل مشروع المترو +
 .أكتوبر 2009 بدء تصميمات مبنى الكنيسة +
   .ديمسمبر 2009م الأنتهاء من التصميمات وتم الموافقة والتوقيع عليها من قداسة البابا شنوده الثالث +
22 اكتوبر 2010م  قام نيافة الحبر الجليل الأنبا مينا بتكليف من قداسة البابا شنوده بوضع حجر الأساس وبدء الأعمال الإنشائية للكنيسة +
6 نوفمبر 2011م قام نيافة الأنبا مينا بافتتاح الكنيسة واقامة أول صلاة قداس بها +
تقع الكنيسه على مسافة 20 دقيقة من وسط مدينة كالجارى وأنشأت على مساحة 5 فدان وبتكلفة اجمالية قدرها 5,5 مليون دولار +
 .يناير 2012 قام نيافة الأنبا مينا بتدشين المعمودية   +
 .2014 تم شراء قطعة الأرض الملاصقة لمبنى الكنيسة بمساحة 4 فدان بقيمة 1.8 مليون دولار +
17 سبتمبر 2014 زيارة قداسة البابا المعظم الأنبا تواضروس الثانى بابا الأسكندرية وبطريرك الكرازة المرقسية تدشين مذابح وايقونات الكنيسة +
في 24 نوفمبر 2019 ، أجرى نيافة الأنبا مينا “وضع اليدين” بالرسامة ابونا شنودة سليمان على رتبة كهنوت في الكنيسة القبطية الأرثوذكسية للقديس مينا في كالغاري ، أ+
